How to Plan Your Wine Country Bachelorette

As veterans of multiple wine country trips, here are some of our favorite things to do (and wear) on a wine country bachelorette.

Planning a Wine Country Bachelorette

Amazing as it is to believe, the official start of fall is fast approaching. With that, wineries enter crush season … aka one of the best times of the year to throw a wine country bachelorette. As veterans of multiple wine country trips, here are some of our favorite things to do (and wear) on a wine country bachelorette.

Choose the Wine Region

Napa and Sonoma are the obvious choices, but don't discount other areas of the country if a flight to San Francisco isn't in the cards. The Finger Lakes region in upstate New York has some stand-out wines, and you can have a fabulous time in more off-the-beaten path wineries in Virginia, Maryland, Texas, or the Midwest.

Decide on the Wineries

Research the wineries in your chosen area, and pick ones that match your crew's wine taste. Look for wineries that offer tours, tastings, food pairings and other fun experiences!

Book Accommodations

Choose a place to stay that is centrally located to the wineries you want to visit. Consider renting a house with a pool or hot tub or booking a hotel with amenities like a spa for some ultimate relaxation vibes.

Plan Your Itinerary

The plan for the day is key to making the most out of your wine-tasting experience. Keep it chill by hitting up no more than four wineries, and give yourself at least 90 minutes per spot. Try to pick wineries that are nearby to avoid spending too much time on the road. Hire a driver or bike around so you all can enjoy the wine without stressing about getting back. And don't forget to budget some time for food — sadly, wine doesn't cut it as a meal! Plus, if you plan on buying some wine along the way, you might get hooked up with some major deals on tastings. So be sure to let the staff know!

Consider an Excursion

Wine country's got way more to offer than just sipping on vino all day. Check out some local activities like taking a hot air balloon ride, going horseback riding, or getting spa treatments to switch things up and make the bachelorette party totally unforgettable!

What to Bring

Make sure you pack for comfort AND style. Grab some clothes that are easy to move in since you'll be walking around vineyards all day. Don't forget to pack some cute, comfy sandals, 'cause no one wants blisters! It can get chilly at night, so maybe snag matching shawls for the whole crew. And for those days when you're sipping on wine and then headed straight to dinner, pack a simple, cute jersey dress that can withstand anything and is a total breeze to throw in your bag.
